Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder which manifests itself through repetitive behaviours a person feels compelled to do and uncontrollable, unwanted thoughts. An obsession is a thought which is involuntary and repeatedly recurs whilst a compulsion is a behaviour a person feels compelled to repeatedly act out. Often, compulsions can be acted out in an attempt to silence obsessions. Compulsions can grow increasingly demanding, which leads to greater feelings of anxiety if they are not performed.
